Lecture by Dr. Neal Halfon on Transforming Early Childhood Community Systems (TECCS)

Are Hamilton County children ready for school?

The difference between children who will succeed at school and those who will not starts at the very beginning. Young children who are not ready for school are less
likely to succeed in school, less likely to graduate, and less likely to find employment after graduation.
Transforming Early Childhood Community Systems (TECCS) is a national initiative developed through a partnership between United Way Worldwide and the UCLA Center for Healthier Children. Families, and Communities. The goaI of TECCS is to improve the academic, social, and emotional readiness of young children by measuring and mapping development progress..
PHIC is partnering with other community organizations to bring Dr. Neal Halfon, the Director of the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families & Communities, to Chattanooga. He will lead a series of community discussions on TECCS and how it
could benefit our educational system.
